R.E.A.L Foundations 1 REAL COMMUNITY CHARITY CARNIVAL

Spreading the noble message of unity and benevolence

Kuala Lumpur, 21 July 2010 - R.E.A.L Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of R.E.A.L Education Group, played host to the 1 REAL Community Charity Carnival which was held on Saturday, 17 July 2010 at Car Park A of Stadium Nasional, Bukit Jalil.

This goodwill carnival, which attracted approximately 50,000 visitors from all walks of life, lived up to its promise of offering a day of exciting entertainment for the whole family, with thrilling activities catered for everyone. There were numerous stalls set up, selling a variety of bazaar food both savoury and sweet to suit every palate.

Among the highlights of the carnival were exhilarating games such as paintball and the latest crowd-puller in town - the ‘Giant Trikes’, which sparked much intrigue and curiosity with its unconventional yet fully functional three-wheel design. There was also something for the kids, of course - giant inflatable play-lands, which kept them entertained for hours on end.

Proceeds garnered from today’s ‘1 REAL Community Charity Carnival’ will provide R.E.A.L Foundation with the funds to aid the following local charity homes; 1) RACTAR (Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah) and 2) Rainbow Home. These homes were represented at the event by Dr. Nafsiah Mohamed and Pastor Sheila Sheng respectively.

In line with R.E.A.L Foundation’s mission of Making a DIFFERENCE in a childs life through education, the foundation and several caring R.E.A.L staff are currently sponsoring the education of a six-year old child named Khoo Chen Kit. He was initially a very shy and quiet boy, who barely uttered a word to anyone. But within the space of just one year under the R.E.A.L Kids programme, one can see the marked difference in his confidence and character. He is now a much more responsive individual, and is thoroughly enjoying his time at R.E.A.L Kids.

Demonstrating true spirit of benevolence, many parties have generously contributed in some form or another - monetary or otherwise - in helping to make this carnival the success that it was. These include in no small part, the Principals of R.E.A.L Education Group’s 30 plus kindergartens, three private schools, three international schools, and one college. Not forgetting as well, the overall number of students totaling up to 15,000 and their parents too.
